What is the reason for fitting EP Radiator Guards?

The EP radiator guards prevent damage to the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure Rallye radiators from road debris, while at the same time allowing all-important cooling air to pass through. The radiators’ cooling fins easily bend and can restrict airflow, which could lead to overheating. Also, the radiators’ internal coolant-carrying cores are prone to being holed by stones, large or small. A damaged radiator can leak coolant to make the motorcycle inoperable through overheating, and can lead to engine damage. Replacing a holed radiator is very expensive compared to the purchase price of the EP Radiator Guards, which also happen to look good.
