What protection does an EP radiator guards give?

The dual EP Radiator Guard system protects the R 1250 GS Adventure Rallye TE twin radiators from road debris while allowing all-important cooling air to pass through to them. They also look good at the same time. The two radiators have delicate outer fins that easily bend, and misaligned fins can reduce airflow to cause overheating. The radiators’ internal cores can also be holed by stones, etc; all usually picked up and fired directly into the radiators from the bike’s front tyre or by other traffic. Leaking coolant will make the R 1250 GS Adventure Rallye TE inoperable because of overheating, which can result in engine damage. If leaked coolant reaches the tyres this will cause loss of grip.
